Silas Terry Fishing Reels – Waterbury, CT

Silas Terry reels were made in the 1870’s. He was born in 1807 and died an 1876 in Waterbury, CT. He was the son of Eli Terry who was a famous clockmaker. He apprencited with his father and also became a clockmaker. In 1871 he received a patent for a fishing reel and assigned it to his company, the Terry Clock Company. His reels are typically marked with his Nov. 14, 1871 fishing reel patent date.
