David Guthrie fishing reels were made in Brooklyn, NY in the 1860’s and 1870’s. Guthrie went from being listed as a machinist in the City Directories to a supplier of Fishing Tackle. Guthrie reels are not marked on the outside of them. He marked them on the inside of the reels he sold to fishing tackle dealers such as A. Clerk & Co.
