Rainey’s Secret lures were made in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s and came in nine different color designs. The lures came with two grooves along the their sides. This causes the surface lure to spin when it is twitched and pulled through the water. A box ad states the lure is “An answer to a fisherman’s prayer – And unfair to the large and small mouth bass.” Perry Rainey received a patent for his lure design on February 26, 1952. Rainey’s Secret lures are considered to be made by one of the great South Florida Lure Maker.
